CLEARING SALE. The National Mortgage and Agency Company report as follows: — On Thursday last we lield a most successful clearing sale at Pareora on account of Mr W. J. Mulcock. There was a very large attendance of farmers and others present; all parts of the surrounding district beiinj represented. Every lot coming under the hammer was in splendid order and condition, and realised a price which must have proved satisfactory to the vendor. The following are a few of the sales— Sheep 200 4, 6-tooth ewes with lambs at foot lis, all counted, S4 ewes fullmouths with lambs at foot 10s 3d, hoggets (mixed sexes) 14s 6d, wethers ISs 6d, rams Jgs. to ljgns. Horses— Bay mare "Lady" £36 10s, chestnut mare £3l, black gelding £27. bay gelding £25 10s, bav gelding £26, bav do £24 10s, bay cob £l7 10s, bav gelding £l7 10s, bay mare £27 10s. Alilch cows £3 to £8 os. yearling cattle to £2 15s, calves £1 Is. Implements—D.F. plow £ll 7s. harrow £6. harrows £B, cultivator £l6. drav £l6 10s, binder £l6 10s, gig £l9. Furniture— £34, wardrobes £3 15s to £4 15s, sideboard £3 15s. THE LOCAL MARKETS. There is so little doing on the local grain markets that it is impossible to give reliable quotations. Millers are not buying, and very little wheat is being offered just now, though there is still a fair quantity in the district.
