MEETINGS & BUSINESS NOTICES.
Tenders are invited to-day for some road work on the Tiraaru racecourse. Mr M. J. Knublev, solicitor, has shifted his offices to Evans* Buildings in Beswick street. Tho Shearers' and Woolshed Hands' Union hold their annual meeting at the Stone Stables to-night at 7.30. Tho Primitive Methodist Church at Geraldine celebrates its 3oth anniversary on Sunday nest, and a tea meeting v/i]l be held next Tuesday. Shareholders in tho South Canterbury Dairy Company are to meet on Saturday week to receive report and decide on distribution of assets. A general meeting of members of the Tiino.ru Commercial Club will bo held in the rooms of the Timaru Football Club at 8 p.m. this evening. The Battalion Band will give their concert in tho Caroline Bay rotunda, this evening, commencing at 8 p.m. A collection will bo made, the proceeds going towards tho expenses of tho competing members at the Dunedin contest. One of the most interesting displays in the Labour Day procession was the exhibition by Messrs Isisbet Ltd., mounted on a couple of carts and consisting of a working fountain, spray, and plunge bath and screen, all constructed by Mr A. C. Fawcett, tho manager.
The boys of the High School, .with the assistance of the G.P.S. and somo musicians of the town, aro giving an entertainment this evening in tho Jackson Memorial Hall, Church street. Among other items there will bo a gymnastic display by the hoys, instrumental and vocal selections, and an amateur reproduction Ijv tho boys of scenes from " Twelfth Night."
