To the Editor of the "Timnru Herald."- , ®' r > there is one thing mor« tlian another lor which the people of l J imam are to be congratulated it is j their choice of its Councillors. Could ' anything bu more edifying than your report of tho last Council meeting 1 It makes one glow with pride to note , tile wise deliberation, the calm judgment, tho gentle forbearance, and sweet courtesy brought to bear in un- • ravelling tangled threads at thosa happy meetings.—nothing, of pique. ■ temper, or of the prize-ring; but only a freedom of speech and action seldom seen elsewhere. It is so truly Bplendid that one is lost 111 admiration. I would suggest that tho citizens of Timnru single out one or two of the chief actors at those more specially interesting meetings, and recognise them in a '■ way befitting their merits. A purse of ' sovereigns, or a. long holiday might meet the case.—l am, etc., a*. BAmo.™™* """***■
