FRANCE SHORT OF WHEAT.Press Association —By Tel. —Copyright LONDON, Oct. 11. English wheat is being profitably shipped to France. FROZEN MEAT. The " Morning Post's " Vienna correspondent understands that the report of the members of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce sent to England to inquire into frozen meats, favours unrestricted importation.
Demonstrations are being held in all Austrian towns against the high prices of food. Four thousand people paraded at St. Pelten.
SIR GEORGE RETD'S PLANS. Sir G. Reid has approached the Colonial Office with a view to the British Ambassador at Vienna supporting his offer to pay the carriage of a trial shipment of meat; also urging the feasibility of Austrian veterinary surgeons who are going to the Argentine, extending their journey to Australia, as the Argentine meat alone is mentioned on the Continent in connection with the high-price campaign. Sir G. Reid is preparing a booklet for circulation on the Continent, descriptive of Australian frozen meat, with London prices- translated into French, German, Austrian, and Italian. TRUST FUNDS.
