. *&>. ! The Waimr.taitai Wesley Tennis Giub | held their opening day on Thursday last. Owing to counter attractions. I the attendance of members and friends ] was not so large as was expected. The I majority of the old members., especially lilt- ladies, showed very good fornj. Afternoon ii-.a was provided by the ladies. Play was then resumed' untii sunset, which terminated a very enjoyable afternoon. On Saturday the Winchester Tennis Club opened the season on their grass courts in the domain. The day was ! beautifully fine and there were lame ' numbers -or visitors from p r ll neighbouring clubs. The courts were in fair order, and with attention sbmiM be in good onwbtiori very soon. Plav was continued t : H evening set in. botft ' courts being fullv occupied. TiefresnI merits we-e provided bv the lady memI bers of the Winchester Club. "
