(From Our Own Correspondent.,) The prevailing weather lately has been quite spring-like, with warm nor'west winds, and only slight frosts. The snoiv <jn the hill-tops is perceptively lessening. every day, and several good bums have alrea'dv blaehened their slopes. Spring flowers ate beginning to make a good show, and a sprinkling of lambs is to be ston in several paddocks. The sudden death ol' Archie Cordon., after only three days' illness, cast quae a gloom over tlio district, and much sympathy is _ felt j'oi- his relations, c-pccially i'o,' his brother and sister, who arc on their v.'av hums from Canada Theirs will indeed be a sad homecoming.
