AMUSEMENTS.

TRINITY CHOIR CONCERT. There was a good attendance at Trinity Hall last evening, when the church, choir gave an enjoyable concert. Til© programme was a fairly lengthy one, and all the performers were -well received. The programme opened with a pianoforte, solo "La Soveralnc" given in pleasing style by Mr AVm. Eishwick, who later contributed another number "Penelope." Miss J. McKay was heard to good advantage in her solo "Hush me, O Sorrow," and Mr S. Anderson was given an enthusiastic encore for his masterly rendering of "Peg Away." The singer responded with "The" Island of Dreams." Undoubtedly the finest item on the programme was a duet "Scene Miserere" taken from the opera "II Trovatori," given by Miss J. C. and Mr S. Anderson. Miss M. and Mill.Norrie were; responsible for a verv pleasing" vocal duet, -'Venetian Song," Miss L. Parks was heard to good advantage in her solo, "Roses": the Misses Thompson gave a- verv tasteful rendering of the duet for which thev were set down —"Orange Blossoms" Miss ,1. C. Anderson, always a. favourite on any concert platform, received a very cordial reception for her singinoof "Hush Little One," and she had to respond to an encore which would brook of no denial. Mr R. D. Norrie .sang "Four Jolly Sailormen" so well that ho too, was complimented bv being recalled, when he gave another enjoyable number. The choir appeared twice—first in a humorous glee "liumpty Dumpty" which they interpreted With marked success, and later in the hunting chorus "Tallv Ho" which was also given with the necessary viin and spirit. Some members of the- choir also gave a part song, "The J'airies." The aocomnaniments were all played with skill and taste bv Mr Lishwick.
