To the Editor of the "Timani Herald." S ir , —l liave been asked bv two of your correspondents to explain how this proposed Park is to be acquired. Tlie answer is a simple one—by hard cash modified by such assistance as the Government and the Borough Council may be prepared to prive. One is diffident in these days about making suggestions as to the improvement of the town, hut if one had public bodies with spare time for the discussion of public affairs, I would also suggest the establishment of a, municipal market. Timaru. I fool sure, will justify its existence, but the lines on which'it is run must he progressive. The policy which denies Edwin and Angelina the luxury of a harmless cup of tea at the Bay kiosk on a Sunday afternoon, is more suitable to the days of the Ark. than the aeroplane.—T am etc , NEMESIS. 16th August, 1910.
