The fight between Langiord and Kaufmann, which was to have taken place at Philadelphia to-night, has been cancelled. Laugford agreed to take a percentage of tho receipts, and then demanded 7500 dollars. JOHNSON-JEFFRIES PICTURES. ADELAIDE.. August 12. In the Assembly the Premier, 3itr Verran moved an amendment to the Public Entertainment Bill to prevent the exhibition of the Johnson-Jeffries pictures. The first to oppose it was the Attorney-General, who said it was unique to have the Premier opposed by a colleague. Mr Verran explained that it was not a Cabinet matter. The amendment was defeated by twenty, votes to eight.
