TIMARU FLORAL SOCIETY.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A committee mcctins of tho Timaru Floral and .Horticultural Society was held on Saturday evening, wlie'n tho following members \ve:« present:— Messrs A. A sample bottle was shown, and after a discussion it was decided on the motion of Mr Knowlcs, that the society procure for their" next show, as an experiment, bottles for the collection of annuals and hardv cut floweqs in the gardeners' anil amateur classas. The procuring of bottles was left with Mr the secretary. A sub-commitfee consisting of Messrs Sealey, Knowies, and Edgar was appointed to devise 'some means of making maximum points for the judges in the run competition. A committee consisting nf the" chairman, secretary, Messrs Edgar and Grant was appointed to meet the teachers t)f the various schools to discuss the advisability of making alterations to the ehiHren's section of the schedule. (The meeting is to take place next Saturday afternoon in the Technical School, Mir Grant to be convenor). The secretary was instructed to write to the A. and V. Association aiid Farmers T'nion, soliciting donations on behalf of Hie children's garden section of the schedule. Mr Sea ley marie a suggestion that the society shoi Id hold their autumn show three weeks earlier, as experience in the oast had proved that it is held a little b.fe in the season. Other members endorsed this, and ?.fr Sealev then moved and Mr .Grant seconded, that the autumn show he held on 16th and 17th < f February. 1911. It. was also decided to include in the schedule' that the society admit children in groups under the charge of their teacher at 3d each, teachers to make their prraiH'ement as to time of visiting with the secretary.
