I Under the heading of criminal J marges 239 males and 8 females were • brought up, 206 males and 5 females 1 werp. convicted, 126 males fined, 17 1 moles imprisongd, 37 males were dis- ] charged 'with a caution, 28 males and I 3 females discharged, 5 males commit- I ted to the Supreme Court, and orders were made against 25 males and 5 females. The most common offence was drunkenness 96 being charged, while for breaches of the by-laws the numibiT was 4S, and 31 were chamed with theft of various kinds and wilful damage to property. The number of assault cases, which does not include broaches of.the peace, was surprisingly small, only two persons coming up, and both were discharged. The total monev paid into Court for criminal cases" was £B2 Ss 6d, £64 7s 6d in fines and £l7 16s in stamps. During the quarter 47 old n£re pensions wove-renewed. 10 applications for renewals adjourned, IT new ones granted and 2 refused. There were 247 civil cases, and the amount of civil fees paid into Court in stamps was £92 Bs. Licensing fees amounted to £l4 4s. During the three months £847 18s 2d was recovered through the Court. £IBO2 9s Gd beinp; sued Tot.
