TIMARU RAILWAY STATION.

To the Kclilor of tho "Timaru Herald." Sir, —Seeing that tho general" waiting room in the Timaru railway station jS now altered, and is much more comfortable, I would like, to draw attention to th<s need of a fire in same. On Mr Millar's visit to Timaru, when tho alteration was suggested by Mr Craigi-e, and a deputation, the Minister said there was no reason why tho room should be without a, fire. The Government has a good supply of coals. ]t would seem so, if you only glance in at the booking office, guard room and parcel office, you will always see glorious fires burning. If it is cold for the employees, how much colder it is for one waiting on an open platform for an hour or so for a train.—l am, etc., ALMOST FROZEN.
