At- the same timelie could truly s.iy that the attendance was beyond the most sanguine expectations. The accounts were not balanced yet. but he hoped that there would be a substantial balance to credit, and that it would be the loumiaxi::ii or a uiti.l for an art gallery for Tiuiaru. It would he tor the Borough Council t;i move iu the matter of an art gallery and museum. Mr Craigie mentioned that the Rev. Air Hunt hat! express ,J his willingness to hard his collection over to aiu-h a museum, a.-.u! that "other ladies and gentlemen had promised to assist in the way of curios, art treasures. pictures, etc. He had already secured four pictuies and was very sanguine oi seeing the movement quite successful. Mr Craigie was frequently applauded: he spoke earnestly and confidently of the. success the exhibition now closed had bciii. and lucked forward with every conlidence to the future. The votes of thanks were coupled with the names of Air R. Grant, director of the exhibition, and Mr T.
