PEARCE BEATS HAGNEY. Press Association-By Telegraph-Copyright Received o p.m., May 29th. SYDNEY, May 29. The weather was fine, the water smooth, and the attendance large for the sculling match yesterday. Hagney led for the first hundred yards, and for the first half mile kept I'earce moving. After that the champion was not troubled; he gradually forged ahead, led by two lengths at the mile, six at the two miles, and finished twenty lengths to the good, Hagney tiring badly at the finish. The winner rowed grandly throughout.
