THE LATE KING. Mr Aspiuall moved that a vote of condolence be moved with the Royal Family in the great- loss sustained by them, and the nation, in the death of Edward VII. This was carried, members standing. NEW MEMBERS. The .following new members were elected:—Messrs L. Grant, W. ilowell, C. Iloldgate, \Y. Holdgate. A. Bushen, A. Clyma and G. Lewis. PERSONAL. Mr Aspinall said it was to be regretted that Dr. Hayes and Mr Rutherford were unable "to attend, and as secretary, he was instructed to write these members conveying the Society's regret at their indisposition. DISCUSSION. Mr C. Nicholas pointed cut the disadvantages as against the benefits of letting the Rungitata Reserve for sheep grazing.—It was decided to leave the matter to the Temuka members or the Council. Mr Nicholas also pointed out the necessity of jjlantmg some shelter on the Reserve. Mr Porter brought up the question of '-stripping'' at the Opihi. He thought this Society should get a percentage of the ova. The fishing was falling off as shown by the returns, and he would like the meeting to express an opinion.—The Chairman said he did not think they should "beard" the Government. So far they had been very luccessful in their dealings with the Government. Mr Ayson had given them all the assistance he could in restocking. Mr Aspinall concurred in these remarks. Notice of motion was read lrom Mr P- G- Allen in reference to Kule !'_'. which requires that nominations lor seats on the Council lie m the hands ol the secretary three clear davs prior to the annual meeting, and he proposed that nominations be received at the annual meeting. He spoke in support of the motion which wa» seconded pro forma by -Mr Porter.

This caused some lengthy discussion, the following took nart "for" and against —Messrs Foster, Asmnall. Cutte.i. Prmgle and Phillips.—.Mr Allen replied to the arguments brought against his motion and on a vote of the meeting it was defeated, and the- rule remain's as published.

It was resolved that the motion carried at a former meetin" relative to the weight of fish caught lie rescinded ELECTION OF-'COUNCIL. The following were elected to thCouncil:—Messrs W. JI. Brown. If Taylor, P. Coira, Ceo. McCullomdi F Cutten, J. S. Rutherford E Scil-i"o----fer, P. 0. Allen. A. C. 'Primde 'l> I<-ster, YV. Beekinghara and F. Palliser.

A recommendation was carried instructing the seci-etarv to forward a remit to the Conference touching the advisability of having a game license made universal in the Dominion, and that- local regulations as far as possible be framed.

The meeting terminated with n vote of thanks to the chairman. the out-::oni-i Council and secretary.

At a Council meeting held afterwards. Mr Palliser presiding. Mr .T S Rutherford was re-elected chairman for the ensuing year.
