THE LATE KING.

ALLEGED BURLESQUE FUNERAL. Press Association-By Telegraph-Copyright SYDNEY, May 27. Ths German Consul-General reporting on the disturbances caused by German seamen on May 7th, says that no one regrets the incident more than himself. The whole German community joins in this feeling. Inquiries showed that most of the German seamen belonged to the crew of a British ship and were returning on board after drinking with some friends from a German ship. The mummery the men wore was the same as that used when celebrating the crossing of the line. That they had no intention to insult the memory of the late King may be taken from the fact that they were returning on board a British ship. The men declared that they did not come on shore till night, and were unaware of the King's death.
