WADIATE. The Waimate Borough Council's meeting ou Tuesday mgnt was attend-j ed by the Mayor (Mr N. JJ'ranois), f Councillors liiKster, Hutt, Miller, ' Hunt, Manchester, Collett, Cox and Sauciers. I MAYOR'S STATEMENT. j The Mayor expressed his thanks to the ratepayers for electing him unopposed, ior a third term as Mayor, and to the Councillors for their careful attention to business, and the loyal support they hud _iven him. He had impressed upon j the Valuer that although the Council desired a uniform system of valuations throughout the borough, they were anxious that values should not be unduly raised, as in the event of further financial depression the present selling values would not be maintained.
