DUTIES OF CITIZENSHIP

The London County Council lia-S cancelled the half-holiday to-morrow, and instructed head teachers to give addresses in the schools for half an hour on the duties of citizenship. Lord Meat-h tentatively suggests June 28th, tho date of Queen Victoria's coronation as suitable for the adjourned Empire demonstrations. REVIEW AT TORONTO. General French reviewed 3200 uniformed cadets and a hundred girl pupils at Toronto. The latter decorated t-lu? monuments around the Parliament buildings. General French was emphatic in his praises of the display which he would have liked everybody in the Motherland to have seen.
CELEBRATIONS IN SYDNEY. SYDNEY, May 24. The weather promises to be fine for the Empire Day celebrations, which will he on the usual lines, though less elaborate owing to King Edward's death. The day was celebrated in the schools in the usual way, and quietly in the city. About 20,000 persons gathered in front of the Post Office, find sung "Rule Britannia" and the National .Anthem, concluding with I cheers for King George. Per Press Association. FEILDING, May 24.
