SWIMMING.
MAIN SCHOOL GIRLS' SPORTS. Tlie favourable weather which prevailed yesterday was appreciated at the Century baths, where the Tiinaru Main School girls held their annual swimming sports. The events proved highly interesting to competitors and spectators alike, and under the guidance of Messrs C. Collins and E. iJonoghue (starter). Rev. A. E. Hunt and Mr 0. Dalglish (judges) the meeting proved most successful. Results were as follows: — Learners under 12 —Emma Jones 1, Ivy Segar 2; do. over 12 —Reby Shields I, Lucy Smale 2; Handicap under 13 years—Jessie McNab 1, Dorcas Webster 2; Neat Diving—Dorothy Irwin 1, Eva. Day 2; Open Handicap. 40 yards—Chrissie Ennis 1, Dorcas Webster 2; Swimming on Wings— Lily Hay 1, Jessie Wade 2; Consolation under 3.2 years—Madge Westvopp 1, Sylvia Day 2 ; do. under 13 years — Liaa'ie Mair *l, Lila l<yfe 2'; do. over 13 years —Isabel Thomson 1, Myrtle Segar 2. District Championship, 100 yards—D. Webster I, C. Ennis 2; 25 yards—D. Webster 1, C. Ennis 2. Two events 50 yards and 75 yards remain to be got 'olF; the Centre lias donated prizes. By winning the TOO
yards' district championship Miss Webster also secured the honour of being school champion.
