Tho sub-committee of the House cf Representatives decided a 2 ainst honouring Commander Peary until he submits his proof. Members questioned the accuracy of his statement that his marches averaged 20 miles from the time of leaving Captain Bart-kit to the Pole, and 44 miles daily until he rejoined Captain fiartistt, whereas the greatest speed before and after was nine miles daily.
