GERALDINE SALE. | Tlie usual fortnightly sals was held at Geraldiuo yards yesterday. Competition throughout was very good, enabling almost a complete clearance. ADDINGTON MARKETS. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, March 9. Store sheep were made up principally of wethers and ewes, lambs being in Bmaller projKjrtion than of late. There was a very good demand. Two tooth ewes made 12s to 16s 6d, four tooth 14s lid to los lOd, four and six tooths lis 7d to 15s Bd, six and eight tooth 13s 9d to 14s 9d, failing mouths 10s, wethers 7s Id, to 14s and lambs 7s 4d to 12s. Fat lambs totalled 8734. There was a good demand, heavy weight freezer;; and tegs meeting with I keener competition. Tegs sold up to 16s 4d, ordinary weight freezers 13s to 15s, and light and unfinished.lis to 12s Gd. Fat slieep were in good demand. Good wethers gold rather better. The range of prices was: —Prime wethers los 6d to 19s, extra to 20s 6d, others 13s 7d to los, prime ewes 12s Gd to 14s lid, extra to 15s lOd, others 7s 9d to 12s. Cattle: Fat steers made £6 to £9 17s Gd, heifers £5 5s to £8 2s Gd, cows £4 17s (id, to £B. Calves 4s 6d to 535. In store cattle yearlings maclo 26s to 355, 15 to 18 months £2 13 8d to £2 14s, 2 year steers £3 to £3 17s Gd, two year heifers £3 19;> Gd, two and a liaif year steers £4 10;s, lii.-ee jcar steers £5 15s, three year heifers' £4 10s to* £4 los, dry cows 37s to £5 7s 6d, dairy cows £3 10s to £B. BUIINSIDE STOCK SALES. DTJNEDIN, March 9. _ Cattle—l 37 were yarded. '• Competition was keen and prices considerably firmer than last week. The best price obtained for prime bullocks was. £ll 2s Gd, medium to good £8 17s Gd to £9 7s, inferior £7 2s 6d to £8 10s, heifers £4 10s to £5 ss. Sheep.—lßßs were penned. The quality with the exception of a fewodd pens of prime wethers was medium. Prices for good wethers showed a firmer tendency than last week, but for inferior they were not so good. Extra prime wethers to 17s 9d, good 15s to lbs, medium 13s (id to 14s 6d, and inienor 12s to 13s, best ewes lis Gd to 13s,_ and inferior 8s to 10s. Lambs— MSI were yarded. The quality was interior to last week. Prices for well finished of good quality were e.qual to last week's, but unfinished and lighter sorts were a little easier. Extra, prime to 14s 9d, good 13s Gd to 14s 6d medium lis to 12s Gd, and inferior 10s to 11a.
