The weather was fine for the continuance of the Flemington meeting, and there was a good attendance. A good race for the Cup was expected, but when the board was hoisted only a dozen were left in. Orline led from start to finish, only a quarter of a second outside the record of 1905. The following are the results: — HURDLE RACE.—Vernier 1, The Gaul 2, Lord Desmond 3. Four others started. Won by a length. ASCOT VALE STAKES.—Beverage 1, Lager 2, Gigandra 3. Others were —Bobadea, Te Anami, and Termga. Lager led to the tan from Gigandra and Beverage. The latter ran through at the distance in tha centre of the course and won brilliantly by three lengths. CUP.—Orline 1, Pendil 2, Diabolo 3. Scratched—Marlee, Conge d'Eslire, Active, Mornga, Favian, .and Herova. From a good start Orline dashed to the front, and at the half mile post was , followed, by Diabolo, Flavinius, Nushka, Delaware, and Pendil. The order was maintained to the riverside, where Pendil moved lip replacing Aberdeen who dropped to the rear. Orline was leading by two lengths at the abattoirs from Diabolo. Rounding the turn Pendil gained rapidly and made- a gallant but hopeless effort on entering the straight. Won by three lengths, five lengths between second and third, Carl Dour fourth STEEPLECHASE.—Ripon 1, Alcuin 2, Saverne 8. Others—Seymour, Boisdale, Earl of Castles, Eucambene, Walseley, Stariel, and Goschen. Ri.pon took charge at the turn and won easily by eight lengths. BOTJRKE HANDICAP.—Pretty Peg I, Kuringai 2, Conge d'Eslire 3. Others—Mala, True Scot, Knok, Malmsey, Pluah, , Captain White, Queen o' Scots, Seatondale, Mother Goose, Sequariife, and Wattai. Plush made the running, but Pretty Peg, went to the front in the straight, and after stalling off a challenge by Kuringai, won by two, lengths, Conge d'Eslire finishing fast,, half a ■ length away from Majaj Seo.uarius last. JUNIOR HANDICAP.—Danaus 1, uYira 2, ■ Blairgour 3. Nine others started. Won by one and a quarter lengths/
