ACCIDENTS.
BURIED BY AVALANCHE. Pieas Association-By Telegraph-Copyricht NEW YORK, Feb. 2S Twenty five families were buried by an avalanche half a mile long at Wallace,' Idaho. Twenty-five persons were rescued, but it is believed that a hundred are dead under the snow.
FALL OF A MAINMAST. NARROW ESCAPES. Received 12.30 a.m., March 2nd.. SYDNEY, March 1. The steel mainmast of the cargo steamer Myra carried away when a ton "f bullion was being hoisted from the hold. A number of labourers had a narrow escape from- the wreckage. The accident was caused by the forchnad. stay of the mast not being set up.
