LOCAL MACHES. The final match for Mrs Whittaker's cup was fired by S.C.M.R. on Tuesday at 600 yards range. Captain Sunborn proving the winner from scratch with the following: scores at 300, 500 and 600 yards—42—42—39—aggregate 123. The S.C.M.R. fired a match at 300 yards for trophies presented bv Lieut. R. Bowie, Mr W. H. Kireher and Ex-Sergt.-Major Armstrong. The following are the winners—Sgt. Hurdley 43—43.. Q.M.S. Williams 32-3—35, -Cpl. Parry 31-3—34. The next match will be fired this evening: at 500 yards. The Timaru Rifles "fired at 700 yards on Thursday evening for trophies presented by R. Morgan and Co., N.Z.
