THE COAL STRIKE.

FRESH DEVELOPMENTS*

IPwss Assooiation-Br Telegraph-Copyright Received 11.80' p.m., Feb. 25th, .

SYDNEY, Feb, 25. Another 1 3evelopment is reported from Newcastle. The secretary of-the Federated Engine-Drivers' and firemen's Association applied to the Wages Board to be allowed to intervene in the proceedings in order that members of his organisation should not be subject to discrimination when the question of hands at the mines was considered.

Mr Scholes, in refusing the application, said that petitioner must go to the Industrial Court and ask the special board.

It is understood that the application was founded on the belief that the owners' present attitude in refusing to take back all employees is aimed at the Engine-drivers' Association.
