ACCIDENTS.

TERRIBLE FIRE PANIC. (Press Aasooiation-By Telegraph-Copyright LIMA, Feb. 24. . A theatre at Truzillo, Peru, took fire during a cinematograph performance. The audience were panic-stricken, and fifty perished.

LOST ON MOUNT EGMONT. Per Press Association. ELTHAM, Feb. 25. Much anxiety has been caused by a party, comprising a man and two women, being lost on Mount Egmont tor the last two days and nights. Accompanied by a boy they were ascending the mountain, and got into difficulties The boy went to Dawson's *alls Mountain House and' informed the caretaker., of the party's plight. The caretaker, Mr Graham, on seeing the party informed them that they could not be extricated without ropes, and advised them not to move till he secured the necessary assistance. On returning the careta&er found that the party had disappeared and they have not since been seen. Search parties are out. It was raining heavily last night and to-day. SUICIDE AT OTAKAIKE. A man named Georg6 Kerr (aged 27), a new arrival from Scotland, was engaged in Dunedin to go rabbiting for Mr R. Mcllwraith, at Otakaike. He went up on the 16th inst. Next day the employer had to leave home for a few days, and when he returned on the 21st he found the young man, who was alone on the property, lying in his bedroom, dead, from a gunshot wound. A gun lay beside him, with a bootlace attached to the trigger. A Justice of the Peace held an inquest, and gave a verdict that deceased had committed suicide.
