Alettei-rroman Australian resident at, Manila slates that when the Mar low arrived, Captain Rruce reporter in reference to the supposed Waratah Ho saw a large steamer carrying twi masthead ami red sidelight*. A few seconds later there was a much larger explosion, and when it cleared all th" lights of the steamer Quid disappeared As there were bush fires along th coast the chief officer was of opinio;' that the flames were from theso fires, but they couW not understand the disappearance of the steamer's lights. She had not signalled for help before the explosion. From the terrific explosion they were of opinion that all on board were killed instantly.
