RESPECTING THE SALE OF PATENTS.
We are informed by Henry Hughes (A. It. lloldship, manager), patent agent, of 183 Hereford street, Christchurch i that the firm is often asked m interest themselves in inventions apart from their professional capacity as advisers and inventors.
A reputable patent agent cannot, however, interest himself commercially in an invention. He must be strictly impartial, and when his duties as to tho soliciting of patents are over lie must not be identified in a business or trading way with patents. But what he can do, and what Henry Hughes' firm is doing, is to bring patentees into touch with proper persons who will take the patent to England and America and dispose of it there on behalf of tho patentee. In this way inventors will benefit, and tho firm will have tho satisfaction of seeing clients doing well. Tho New Zealand patent can always be disposed of locally, and this is preferable to selling in London. For further particulars, apply Henry Hughes (A. R. Holdship, manager), 183 Hereford street. Christchurch, or J E S. Jackson, Stafford street, lima ru, agent for Henry Hughes. ... For hoarseness which follows straininn- of voice, nothing is so soothing or effective as Zvmole Trokeys. A trial will please you.
