OPENING MATCH. Tho opening match played between married ami single members of the Timaru Cricket Club 011 Thursday at tho Athletic Grounds, resulted in a win for the single members by 18 runs. In spito of tho strong and cold east wind and tho lack of practice, a good game was played. H Ellis of the Riccarton Cricket- Club played with the married nirn and helped tlioni considerably, but. Campbell notched tho best individual score of the match. Jordan for tho winners l>owled and hatted excellently. The nctf, best to him wero Guinness and ■Yi'oodcer both recr'iits.
