Christie, Messrs T. -Urwih] H; Walton, J. M. May, and S, Stidolpli (secretary). :J The ,report stated that branches had been; formed at Wanganui and Dunedin. Regret was expressed at the serious illness of Mr T.' l)ollman, secretary of the Bullcr briinch..' Matters in connection with the vctcrnns had been quiet during the year. Efforts had been made to> re-establish tho Napier branch, but they liud failed to enlist the sympathies of some to take p.n interest in the Association. It was liopcd to establish a branch at'Gisboriio shortly. Up to the present 101 association decorations had been granted, and they had met with favourable approval. The vice-president' of tho Wellington branch, Mr R-. Tin gov, hod the honour whilst in England of prosontinr: Field-Marshal' Lord' Roberts with the Association's decoration. Lord Roberts said ho felt it nn honour to receive it. ■ , • It . was decided that a;, committee consisting of ' the chairman, ' Captain Edwin, and the mover be feet up: to revise the rules of the Association,* niiil report to tho standing committee of the Wellington branch before 30th November. Some time was occupied in considering a proposed petition to' Parliament asking that a pension of 10s weekly should Ixl-granted the veterans of''the Maori, War; instead of anv claim they may have on ' tho old. age. pensions fund. .■. . r. \ > It was decided ■ that Colonel .Porter, Colonel Newall. and Captain Ilursthouse should he. a deputation to wiiit on Sir Joseph AVard in connection with the matter.,
■ It was decided that representations be. made to the Minister of Justice* recommending xnai me old age pension he restored to a veteran soldier who had had it stopped owing to- a lapso of good behaviour. The man is 'paralysed, and an inmate of the hospital. The balance sheet shows a credit balance of £2 Is Gd, aiid assets amount to £9 9s lOcl. r ' ■ • • -
