Lough, ' formerly, as Miss Phoebo! Foden, a popular members of Wesley Church choir. Mr Lough's friends hero will sympathise with him in his bereavement. The deceased's remains will bo brought to Timaru for interment. The Dominion Rifle team to compete at tho Australasian meeting at Sydney next month left Wellington by the Warrimoo yesterday in charge of Major Robert Hughes, V.D., of Wangauui. Major Hughes had a pleasant surprise before sailing, as Colonel Collins handed him a lieutenant-colonels commission. ' Concerning tho new Justices of tlie Peace for Timaru it may be said that Mr George Sealey has been a member of the Borough Council for twelve or fourteen years; he has been for some years a member of the South School Committee and is its present chairman, and he is also, a member of the South Canterbury Education Board. .Mr J.
