THE GERALDINE CLUB. Mr: I<\' I?. Flatman . presided ..over ,a largely. attended meeting of the Bowling Club on Thursday evening. The secretary (Air \V. Thomas) read the financial ■ statement, and. generally, reported favourably on tho - progress of the club. ■ It was .decided-to-authorise the finance, committee .to borrow. £2OO to complete tho works in hand'.- , A roller and mower - are .to bo purchased iorthwith. Tho chairman reported the purchase, of iron gat-cK' and posts for the green. An animated discussion-'en-sued on •' the subject 'of-the water supply; Mr B. Taylor suggesting the installation of. a rain arid tanks -at t-lio public baths,, and this system ■ found great favour with the ..'meeting. The matter was left in the hands of tho works committee to llnish, and if found suitable, tho work will proceed. The iwcretary reported that the colours of tho ■ club- liavo . heeu selected': —rßrown with green facings. Tho name of Mr Montford was added to the.works committee. Messrs Reeeo and '; Sons, of Christcliurch. -submitted .prices for bowls, and -tho ■ club will procure a. selection on good, terms before tho owning of the season. The matter of .erecting a pavilion was discussed; a suggestion being made that' the same system of securing one as-that adopted by the. Tennis Club should bo tried. A lot of general business was got through, and an enthusiastic meeting adjourned. '
