AMUSEMENTS.
SHERWOOD'S PICTURES. > A fairly well filled house greeted the lino new programme of pictures shown fey Professor Sherwood at the Theatre last niglit and the pictorial fare! was highly appreciated. Some particularly good scenic views were shown, .ill of which were well worth seeing. The titles of the pictures were -'A tour through ancient Rome," "A trip oil the Venetian canals," "A journey in Borneo," scenes in Somaliland and "Views in. India and Ceylon." The dramatic films were well acted >a ud staged and told good stories artd the comics were original and highly amusing. On Saturday afternoon a toy 1 matinee, for tlio benefit-;of the children will he given, commencing at 2.30. The songs pdven by Messrs Menton and Foster at last evening's performance wero well, rendered and cordially received.
