GF.RALDINE v. FAIRLIE. A team from the Fairlie Golf Club journey to Ueraldine by motor car oil iaturuay anil played a, match with the local, club. The weather conditions were as disagreeable as they could possibly be to permit of play at all. A heavy-rain bad fallen during the night, and water was lying i" every hollow on the links and a thick mist and drizzling rain lasted nearly all day. In spite of all these drawbacks the match was.pluckily played out to a finish. Considering the prevailing conditions some good cards : were handed in, and Fairlie finished victors by (> games to 5. The Geraldine Club entertained the visitors to luncheon at the Geraldine Hotel, ami the lady members provided a most acceptable tea, both morning and afternoon.
