BAND CONTEST.
NORTH ISLAND ASSOCIATION. Tor Press Association. WANGANUI, August 30. At a meeting of the committee a]*pointed to mako arrangements for tlio North Island Brass Hands' Association 1010 contest, a. suh-committco reported that £7OO had boon guaranteed by local tradesmen. The following prize list was adopted: —A grade, £IOO, MO, and £25; B grade, £SO, £'2s, £ls, £lO, and £5; quickstep, £4O, £'2o, and £lO. The question of inviting Australian hands was discussed, hut nothing definite was done.. It was resolved that the Association ho approached with a, view to having the. disqualification of the Wellington Garrison Band removed. '
