A GENERAL RAIN. Special—By Telegraph. - CHRISTCHURCH, August 29. Rain is general throughout Canterbury and was very heavy at times from 2 to 3 p.m. In and about Chrisstchurch a good "deal of water is already (Saturday night) .lying about the paddocks. Per Press Association. BLENHEIM, August 28. The heavy rains of the last two days have made "the roads, in a. fearful state and the rivers are all in iloqd. The Nelson coach was- two hours Into in arriving hero last night and this morning had to return to Blenheim owing to its inability to cross the ferry at "Wairau river.
