The leader, Buhamara. was placed in an iron cage, carried on a camel's hack, and entered "Fez amid the jeers of the populace. He boldly insulted the crown in return. The cage was deposited in the palace courtyard. The Sultan interviewed the prisoner through the bars. Buhamara declined to speak unless given new clothes and permitted to rest, his request being granted.
