At the Rheims tests, Mr Latham beat all the records for speed and dis tanee. aeroplaning in a strong wind until the petrol was exhausted, i-fli miles in 2 hours 1 minutes 10 seconds. The Comte Lambert,, in a Wright machine, covered 72 miles in lit minutes.
M. Bleriot lost control of his be*s machine, which turned a somersault and struck a fence. Nobody was injured.
