SKATING. A very ..fair concourse cf people assembled at the Drill Hall on Saturday tor a few hours' enjoyment at skating. Ihe evening sessions snow a large number of gooU skaters, many of \\ ,10111 are this season's learners, which goes to show the ease with wnieh it is possible to learn when assiduously practised. URBAN PICTURE COMPANY. The Urban Picture Comoany will open at the Tiieate Royal "to-morrow night, when till the latest improvements in cinematography will he shown. The pictures come to Timaru with a big reputation, coming as they do, from the best film makers in England, and being shown, as they will be, with the aid of the most up-to-date electric plant. The company lias a particularly fine selection of pictures—the finest, it is said that has ever been shown in New Zealand. Among those to be shown will be films depicting AYibur Wright's latest flying machine—a picture which will no doubt be of considerable interest. Dramatic studies, as well as industrial, scenic, and humorous pictures will also be included in the programme. The company will show here for three nights, and the box plan opens at the Dresden at 10 o'clock this morning.
