A good brisk business was done with the largo audience, and a very pleasant concert was given from the stage erected at the eastern end of the sued, the. following contributing items: —Misses Murray, (Jappi r and Mrs Salmon., Messrs "\\ j/"earse, liowden and Salmon. The accompaniments were tastefully played by Aliases Twomey, Gapper, Poarse and Airs Salmon. A feature was the Japanese costume march by a number 01 girls, for wJne.li prizes were awarded for tiie most original costume, Miss Marion McCaskill being adjudged the winner, and Miss Williams a good second. Metson; hat trimming, Mr J{. Hill, Mr E. Butland ; nail driving competition. Miss Fawdray, Miss "Washington. Special mention is tine to Mr A. McDonald for his miniature bakery, which created much interest, and did a good business in small goods. On the whole the fair was well planned and a great success. At a meeting of subscribers to tlw Teinuka Technical Association, held on Friday night, Mr Geo. Thomson, presiding, the vacancy caused by Dr. Haves' resignation was filled by the election of Mr John Bambridgc. The annual meeting of the Temulc Storage Company is to be held at 2.30 p.m. to-morrow afternoon, at Temuka. The table is 9ft by 4ft 6in, and is quite a work of art. There are 1700 blocks of wood imitated, and this, with great skilL and neatness, while the lining out I occupies 2000 strokes. The principal woods imitated are walnut, knotted totara, rosewood, bird's eye maple, blackwood. and tulip wood. The exhibit was originally intended for the Svdney exhibition, but owing to a mistake hi the time, Mr Grant was not able to earrv out his intention, and it will be sent to Christchureh tor exhibition. By the express on Saturday, there arrived in Temuka Mr Jas. Charters and his son, the Scotch boy preacher.
