A sensational advance of 7 cents in July wheat at Chicago caused a stampede amongst the |'shorts," who are alarmed at the delay in .harvesting operations due to rains in the west and south-west. LONDON, July 15. Mr Patten controls the immediate supply of July wheat which is available for immediate delivery, aggregating 5,000,000 bushels; at 127 cents., and hopes to force the price to 150 cents, when he will inake £500,000 of profit.
