BORDIER WHEAT.
To the Editor of the "Timaru Herald." Sir,. —Your report of Dr. Hilgen•dorf's remarks about Bordier wlieat and the good prices it commands were interesting. 1 can endorse the good results it gives as a crop, but as for prices given, a£> any rate in South Cant-erburry, I at least failed to secure the 6d per bushel over the average, or anything like it. .Except for some seed lines sold to individuals, it took me some trouble to secure. 4s IJd from a keen buyer of good stuff. The buyer of ono well-known firm informed me in confidential tones that they had. private information that Bordier, amongst other French wheats, was a failure, and that therefore he could only buy it for milling, as it was no good for seed. After a thorough trial by Professor Lowrie anil other farmers of over three years in North Canterbury and such recommendation. I hope it will be more appreciated here next year, when, with more beimr grown, it will bo better known. —I am. etc .
