HUNTING.

MEET AT ORARI. Despite the had weather conditions which prevailed on Monday last, when the hounds met at Mr G. A. Maedonald's, Orari, a very fair number of followers were present, and a most enjoyable day's sport resulted. A castwas first made in a paddock adjoining the road, and a hare was soon lound, which led the followers a smart run in the direction ot the riverbed, where hcunds unfortunately got on the scent of a fresh hare. They soon got on the right, trail again, however, and after «■. good run over stiff hunting country, puss was run to earth in the Orari riverbed. -After being hospitably entertained at lunch by Mr Macdonald a move was made in the direction ot Cooper's Creek, where another hare was soon disturbed, and the pack went ; 111 full chase. First the hare made across the Main South road, through Mr l'riddle's land, in the direction of the railwav line, and from here she headed towards Mr l'riddle's homestead, then circling, made off in the direction of Mr Davis' and Mr Fitzgerald's land, being eventually; lost on Mr l'riddle's land close to ihe sjxu from which she was first aroused. This was one of the best runs of the season. The jjaee was a. clinker; there was hardly a check, and hounds were limited in the huntsman's best style The obstacles were negotiated without a mishap, which says much for the quality of the hunters.
