DISASTROUS FLOODS.
RIVERS STILL RISING. A MAN DROWNED. Press Assodation-By Telegraph-Copyright SYDNEY, June 26. Latest reports from the Hooded districts state that the rivers are still / rising slowly. Immense areas are under water, many- bridges have been , washed away, and vehicular traffic is blocked. Rescue boats have been sent. The flood in the Tnmut river is the highest- for sixty years. A man *was drowned in the flood waters at Tuniberumba, and several sensational escapes occurred. " MELBOURNE, June 2G. Many miles of the 'Murray flat are " inundated, and the townships all along the higher reaches of the river are isolated. Great damage has been done to bridges and other property. Stockowners have been warned to remove the hulk of their stocks. The Ovens, King, and other rivers are in high flood, and the country round Wangaratta is under water. FLOODS EXTENDING. Received 1.10 a.m., June 28th. SYDNEY, June 27. Latest reports from the Riverina ! state that the rivers are still rising, and that the flooded area is extending.
