Mr Syme, of Melbourne, speaking at Edinburgh, caid that the Australian universities owed a deep debt of gratitude to Scotland. The Sydney medical school was almost entirely ■■composed of Edinburgh graduates. Tho interchange of British professors and colonial students made for unity of the Empire. Some scheme ought to be evolved whereby colonial professors could bo interchanged with British for a. tinip.
