The steps at the front of the Timaru Courthouse..are uulikc most other steps, in that they are not in front of the entrance door, but lead up to it from the side of the building. This unusual placing of the steps was responsible for an accident last evening. When the Court was emptying in the dark, an old man, who was evidently unacquainted with the building, walked straight ahead after he passed through the door and landed heavily on the asphalt below, a drop of between two and threp feet. Fortunately he escaped without any broken bones, but when nicked up was found to be a good deal shaken.
