WINTER SHOW.
AT DUNEDIN. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Juiie 1. Ihe annual winter show was opened to-day. The ordinary features of the show are well maintained. In factory cheese the principal prizes (coloured cheese) were won by the Woodlands Dairy Factory, with Omimi second, Mat-aura third, lu white cheese t{J e order _ was: Mataura 1, Omimi 2. aikouaiti 3. The Government expert, Mr Cuddie, stated that the quality was very good indeed. Mr Cuddie. dairy commissioner, judged exhibits of factory-made butter. He regarded the exhibits as among best he had seen at the Dunedin Winter Show both as regards entries and quality. Competition in all classes was extremely keen and the produce as a whole was a credit to the manufacturers. The degree of uniformity was most noticeable and speaks well for the system of manufacture at the various factories. Results—Three boxes (suitable for export) Cheltenham Dairy Company (95 pt-s), Leven Dairy Factory (94ipts), Taieri and Peninsula (94). One box (iewt), open to North Island only— Leven Dairy Factory (95pts), Cheltenham Dairy (94A), Thames Valley Co-operative (94). One box (7.cwt), open: Cheltenham Dairy (95pts), South Canterbury Dairy (94), Leven Dairy (93J-). Butter * for grading points: Mangatoki Co-operative Dairy (92. oSpts). and Bell Block Dairy 92. 425, Canterburv Central Co-operative (91. 87).
