During May!the gold returns from the mines of the Auckland district reached a total, value of £100,374 3s lid. This is i considerable decrease upon the April; yield of £1.77,066 lis lid, and is als» a decrease upon the corresponding Donth of last year (£174,997), but; in these two months there were twej Waihi returns. The past month's returns are made up as follows:—Ohineuuri £98,212 10s sd, 8s 6d. The Wiihi Gold Mining Company lias declared a quarterly dividend of 4s per ihare, together with a bonus for the past year of 2s per share. This represents a payment to 1874 colonial shareholders on the New Zealand register of £4136.
