Owing to hares running out at Timaru, the offer-of the Oamaru Club to allow the meeting to be finished on their Plumpton was accepted, and the Maiden Stake was continued at Oamaru with the following results:— Jenny Lind beat Victory. Salvator beat Joic. Merry Bess, an accidental bye. Waitapu, an accidental bye. Princess Ena beat, Tui. Tracker beat Keepsake. Joy Bell beat Convent. Contender beat Merman. War Trail, an accidental bye. Royal Carrier beat Black Nile. Friskie's Last beat Victoria Cross. Fernleaf, a bye.
The final of the Open Stake in connection with the South Canterbury Club's May meeting was run off at the W nsJidyke Plumpton yesterday morning, and resulted in a win for Messrs Irving and .Marsh's brd d Lord Clements, Mr L. Doiiohue's f d The Yoke being runner-up. and Mr A. Kennie's bl'.- d Awapuni third. Mr John Mitchell, of Oamaru. has been selected as jiul-ze for the Greymruth coursing meeting.
