Lord Cromer, Lord Curzon, and. Lord James of Hereford,'delivered vigorous speeches at the 'Men's League opposing women's suffrages, - Sir Edward' Clark,: the Dean of Canterbury, Sir. West Ridgeway, and Admiral, Freeman, were among those present.
Lord Curzou declared that the hulk of the marriedwpmeh did not favour the suffrage; and the wives of the workers were indifferent or hostile. It was impossible to .enfranchise • proper-
tied women; and refuse the vote to wives.
